Scholarship Manager

Sierra is the Scholarship Manager at Say Yes to Education. In addition to overseeing the processing of Say Yes scholarships, Sierra coordinates with local chapter staff on the implementation of scholarship program policies and procedures. Sierra also works in a supporting role on many Say Yes College Access and Success initiatives.

Before becoming Scholarship Manager, Sierra worked as the Scholarship Coordinator for Say Yes Guilford, in Guilford County, NC, where she supported scholarship processing, community outreach, state-based higher ed partnerships, and the implementation of College Access and Success programming within twenty-six local high schools.

Prior to joining Say Yes to Education, Sierra served as a College Advisor for the Carolina College Advising Corps, a corps-chapter of the National College Advising Corps. Within this role, she advised high school students and their families on planning and applying to college. She also collaborated with school officials and local community members to provide her schools with impactful programming, designed to increase the number of underrepresented college students who attended and graduated from college.

Sierra is a proud graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she earned a BA in Global Studies and Women and Gender Studies. She also earned a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University.

Outside of the office, Sierra enjoys volunteering, listening to podcasts, or watching true-crime documentaries.
